Meet Some JCPC Partners
Coalition Partner spotlight-Jackson County Regional Health Center serves all of Jackson County as well as the surrounding counties. Jackson County Regional Health Center moved to their new facility on March 4, 2021. The hospital is a vital coalition member as they are prescribers of opioids as well as treating people with substance use related health needs. The hospital assists the coalition in gathering data and implementing strategies to reduce opioid use.
All 4 police departments in Jackson County have new Chiefs leading them in the last year. Maquoketa Police Chief Brad Koranda retired at the end of 2021. During his tenure the medication drop box was installed in the lobby of the law center, the first in the county which led to all 4 police departments in the county. The Maquoketa Police Department is now led by Chief Brendan Zeimet and we look forward to partnering with them on long standing projects including medication take back events, alcohol compliance checks, planning and assessment of community needs and safety checks.
Bellevue Police has a new chief this year as well, Chief Dennis Schroeder leads the Bellevue Department. Chief Schroeder has been a coalition partner for the last 7 years. He works with the coalition on managing the drop box at Bellevue City Hall, medication take back events, safety checks as well as alcohol compliance checks. Chief Schroeder has been leading the DARE program in Bellevue for over 25 years. We thank him for his long and dedicated service.
